Oregon Psilocybin Licensing Guide

Understanding the legal and administrative requirements established by the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Psilocybin Services under Measure 109.

State Licensing Body

Oregon Psilocybin Services (OPS)

A section within the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Public Health Division. OPS licenses psilocybin facilitators, service center operators, manufacturers, and testing laboratories. It also approves training curriculums like AAA Learning Institute (#TP-b4434a45).

School Accreditation Body

Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC)

The State of Oregon agency that licenses private career schools. AAA Learning Institute operates under HECC licensure, guaranteeing student consumer protections, certified instructional standards, and HECC-compliant tuition structures.

State Facilitator License Requirements

Age & Education Baseline

Minimum age of 21 years old and high school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate.

Graduation from Approved Program

Successful completion of an OPS-approved training curriculum (such as AAA Learning Institute's 162-hour or 114-hour track) plus 40-hour practicum.

Passing the State Exam

Achieving a passing score on the comprehensive Oregon Psilocybin Services facilitator licensing examination.

Background Check & State Fees

Completing a criminal background check and remitting annual licensing fees directly to the Oregon Health Authority.

Terminology & Boundaries

Please note: Oregon law recognizes "Oregon-licensed facilitators," not "certified facilitators." Licenses are granted solely by the state. Graduating from AAA Learning Institute fulfills the educational prerequisites required to sit for the state exam and apply for licensure.
