Educational Objectives & Competencies
Oregon State Regulatory Fluency
Full understanding of Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS 475A) and Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR 333-333) governing psilocybin facilitation, client records, and service center procedures.
Trauma-Informed Presence
Practical instruction on somatic grounding, non-verbal cues, boundary management, adverse reaction de-escalation, and collaborative emergency action plans.
Pharmacology & Screening
In-depth review of drug interactions, metabolic pathways, contraindicated medical and psychological conditions, and ethical referral networks.
Supervised Clinical Experience
40 clock hours of observed and hands-on preparation, holding, and debriefing at Rose Waters Sanctuary in Portland under state-licensed facilitators.
1 · Course Information
Fall 2026 practicum: the required 40-hour supervised, observation-based practicum is at Rose Waters Sanctuary, December 2–5, 2026. The separate $1,750 practicum fee is paid directly to the service center and is not included in the $999 course tuition. Travel, lodging, meals and state licensing costs are separate.
2 · Program Overview
This program prepares students for entry-level to intermediate positions as Oregon Licensed Psilocybin Facilitators. The curriculum integrates theory and practice through live online sessions, self-paced learning and an in-person practicum.
Students develop skills in facilitation, cultural sensitivity, ethical decision-making, safety protocols and client support, in compliance with Oregon law and ethical standards.
All required texts and course materials are included in the online classroom modules. Bring your own notebook and pens. Access to online journals and databases is provided.

Distance Learning students complete Weeks 1–10 online and the practicum at a later cohort date. Accelerated students must complete all remaining instruction, assignments, assessments and practicum requirements.
4 · Prerequisites
Age: at least 21 at time of application.
Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
Legal eligibility: eligible to work or study in the United States.
Background check: required by Oregon for licensure; not required by AAA for enrollment.
Ethical conduct: adhere to AAA's code of ethics.
Completion: all coursework, assignments, assessments, attendance and practicum for the Certificate of Completion.

7 · Grading & Assessment
Students are evaluated through written assignments, case studies, practical exercises and discussion. Each competency is scored 1–3.

Progress is reported weekly through instructor feedback.
8 · Course Expectations
Attendance: minimum 90% live online; 100% for the practicum (OPF110).
Participation: active engagement in discussions, role plays and partner exercises.
Deadlines: firm. Contact the instructor before a due date if you anticipate difficulty.
Safety: follow program safety protocols at all times.
Academic integrity: plagiarism and cheating may result in dismissal.
Professional conduct: professionalism, respect and ethical care throughout.
